Pumas into the Grand Final!
Congratulations to all the Pumas out there on a great season! We have had an outstanding year, with 5 teams making their appearance this week on Grand Final Day. Congratulations to our U11/3’s, 12/2’s, 17/2’s, AA9 and AA12’s for getting to the big day! Last time we had 5 teams on Grand Final day; all 5 teams took away the silverware! Games will be played this Saturday at Meadowbank and Morrison Bay, so get down there and cheer on the mighty Pumas in their search for Championship glory! Details below.
In other news, our Premier League boys have also cracked the finals! After only a couple of seasons in the top flight, our Premier Pumas will face off against our arch rivals, the Kenthurst Bushboys. This sudden death preliminary final is sure to be a cracker, and Kenthurst are sure to bring a big crowd. Make sure our boys hear our cheers from the sidelines as they push hard for the Championship. The Premier League boys kick off at 2:30pm at Meadowbank 3, so whether you are playing on Saturday or enjoying the day off, come down and cheer on the best big cats in the league!
Go the Pumas!
U8 Green Round 14
8-0 win vs WPH-Cherrybrook
Scorers: Lachlan Dewar 4, Lachlan Guy 3, Jonah 1
Wow! All the boys were on fire this week! Each team member played their part with the boys in defense setting up the play for the attacks to score. Great job Riley and Corey for your strong defense and big kicks down the field. Lachlan Guy scored our first goal and Jonah followed up with another shortly after. Well done boys. This set the scene for the rest of the match with Lachlan Dewar punching through the 3rd goal, taking turns with Lachlan Guy to score all the remaining goals kicked for the match. A great job all round with Lachlan Dewar awarded Player of the Match this week for his great goal scoring.
U11/3 Round 14
3-0 win vs Hills Hawks
Scorers: Joel Crawford 2, Ayrton Lucero 1
The score line does not accurately depict this game. We were missing 5 players today due to holidays and illness. The Hawks played hard all game and held possession well. Our backs had to work hard to defend our goal line all game. They managed to fight off a number of attacking movements well. Our regular goalie was away and Ben S filled in. He did an amazing job, earning himself man of the match for saving a number of goals, putting his body on the line to do so.
Thank you to Ari Lucero and Hugh Bingham for making themselves available to fill in for us if needed.
U8 Green Round 14
0-4 loss vs Redbacks
I think the boys were all in holiday mode still for this game! They didn’t have their normal drive and we played a mainly defensive game. Our goalies (Jasper and Zachary) had a good workout and saved plenty. While we had a few close attempts at scoring from Tim and Bryson, we were no match for the Redbacks.
Congratulations to Ben for getting Player of the Match. He was our Energizer Bunny today, running and covering lots of positions while chasing the ball. Well done.
U8 Green Round 12
0-4 loss vs West Ryde Rovers
We just didn’t have it in us today. The boys tried hard, but were not good enough for the West Ryde Rovers. We got some good kicks in and plenty of goals were saved, but the boys needed to follow through on their kicks and pass more.
Congratulations to Nicholas for getting Player of the Match. He was goalie for the first half, but once he hit the field in the second half, he was a rocket, running here there and everywhere chasing the ball. Well done.
Waratah Cup – Prems through to Round 2
Puma Prems do it again, downing Dunbar Rovers in extra time to move into the second round of the Cup.

Premier Pumas down Nepean FC!
Our Premier League side have added another scalp to their impressive collection in 2011. Playing in the Waratah Cup, known as Football NSW’s answer to the FA Cup, the Pumas downed State League 2 side Nepean FC on Wednesday night.
Direct from Football NSW website:
“Gladesville Hornsby Association side Pacific Hills claimed a massive scalp after they defeated State League Two new boys Nepean FC at Cook Park, St Mary’s. The hero for Pacific Hills was Kris Rowe who grabbed a double in the second half that all but wrapped up a round one spot for the association based side.”
The Premier League boys have had success previously in this knockout comp, going to the 3rd Round in 2009 before being knocked out by eventual runners up and Premier League side Manly FC. Let’s get behind boys as they continue on their giant killing ways.

Updated by 2pm each day.
