U7 Green B Round 3

Bouncing back from the disappointment of last weeks loss, the team played very well together and enjoyed well deserved victory.
Manuel scored all 3 goals and there were several near misses from both Harrison and Joel. They all played very good defense, and played very well together.
The “highlight” of the game had to be the goal scored (but not allowed) from a kick in by Manuel. It was a great shot from the side line, and then copied by several players through the game.
Well done!

U9/4 Round 4

0-5 loss v Redfield Lions

Well, we didn’t win today, but the boys played well. They are continuing to improve with holding their positions and learning to trust their teammates as well. We had a number of close goal attempts again but just couldn’t get them in.

Matthew took a ball to the stomach early in the second half, which had him sit out for most of the half. He was subbed on about 30 seconds before the match ended, so didn’t get much of a run!

Player of the Match was awarded to Ben. He was always hustling to get the ball from the opposition and managed to clear it away on a number of occasions. Well done.

U7 Green A Round 3

What a great morning for soccer at Glenhaven!

Our team displayed fantastic defensive skill and worked well together passing the ball for great attacking play as well. Each week we are impressed by the consistent level of sportsmanship displayed. Congratulations to Michael our “Player of the Week” and well done to the whole team for a tremendous effort.

U9/2 Round 3

2-0 win v Epping YMCA

SCORERS: Ryan, Marcos

As the whistle blew our U9’s leaped into action with their normal burst of enthusiasm! Some determined forward play by our mids Thomas, Fletcher and Jessie saw the ball in the oppositions half and resulted in a corner. A strong kick in the air across the goal from Fletcher connected with Ryan’s head and flew between the posts making us 1 nil up. After the re-start our players got straight back into it with some great passing from Jessie, forceful kicks up field from Caleb and fast sideline runs from Charlie. Olly saved a couple of our oppositions attempts at goal but the 1st half was all attack and soon Marcos got in the clear with an impressive individual run and scored our 2nd goal.
The second half saw our opposition re-group, it was time for our defense to stand up and be counted and they didn’t let us down! Bryson, Jentzen and Caleb got down to work and stopped many strong runs from the opposition. Even when Epping FC did get passed our defense Olly was unbeatable in goal even leaping through the air to tip one over the crossbar! The game ended with a 2 nil win. Well done boys!

U7 Green A – Round 2

2-5 loss v Hills Hawks

SCORERS: Michael – 1, Elayna – 1

After missing out on our round 1 game because of the rain it was great to get the season started.
The team played really well and worked together to come very close to scoring a number of times with Michael and Elayna’s goals well deserved. The team worked hard in defense and had some unlucky moments resulting in the Hawks scoring. Eloise was our Player of the Week with outstanding defensive play. We are looking forward to meeting Glenhaven SC next week.

AA11 Round 3

3-0 win v Kenthurst

Scorers: Hurr-Kurr, Clayts, Smitty

The Pumas return to the Home of Soccer saw a great crowd line the hill with upwards of 6 people turning up to see what was in the end a dominant display by the boys. We got off to the best possible start, with Clayts getting another goal closer to his liquid reward by absolutely smashing a free kick into the back of the net. There was no wall, but hey, they all count. Hurr-kurr then capped off a great team move after Levente and Erik combined down the left, before Smitty received the cross, cut back to Hurr-kurr who turned and finished nicely. Some foul throws fattened the fine jar, and Az made a fantastic save wrong footed to keep the Bushboys scoreless for the half.

Second half started inauspiciously, with Dimo going down heavily. He hobbled off with a nasty ankle sprain, but Smitty got things back on target, slotting a nice through ball for 3-0, before hitting the crossbar attempting the chip the charging keeper after some nice play with Stathis. Bazzo, Skip and Kyle continued to hold fast in the backline, eventually recording our well deserved first clean sheet. Another good win for the boys, our first complete effort continuing our good start to the season.

MOTM: Smitty. Was a danger all game, with an assist and a goal just rewards.

U7 Red Round 2

8-2 Won v Redfield Lions FC

Scorers: Ashton – 3, Lachlan – 3, Ben – 1, Riley – 1

After we missed out last week due to ground closures we finally kicked off the season with a beautiful day for sport. The boys wasted no time to get into the game with Ashton kicking the first goal in the 2nd minute of the game. Ben scored shortly after with a great break in the 6th minute to bring the total to 2. Redfield answered with a goal to close the gap to only 1 goal. Ben had a near miss with 7 minutes to go in the first half. Kian played well by being everywhere on the field and gave his best. After a kick in from Ben, Ashton scored his second goal with Pumas moving to 3. Just as Redfield started to think about refreshments to come at half time, Lachlan had a goal blitz with 2 goals in the last 4 minutes of the first half to bring the score to 5/1 for Pumas.

In the second half the boys started well with Ashton scoring his hat-trick to take the Pumas to 6. Not to be outdone by Ashton, Lachlan followed with his own hat-trick to make it 7/1. The Redfield Lions got their 2nd goal with 9min to go and then Riley, with 1 minute to go, put himself in a great position and scored the last goal to make the final score 8/2.

Ashton Wynne got rewarded man of the match. Well done boys!

U7 Green B Round 2

What a game! Both sides played extremely well. Normanhurst FC were able to find the goal more often, which resulted in the final score of 5-3 in favor of Normanhurst FC. The team player displayed by both teams are to be praised. Well done and see you all again next Saturday.

U9/4 Round 3

3-1 win v Gladesville Ravens

SCORERS: Harry Crauford + 2, Jasper McCrindle + 1

It was a great team effort today and so nice for the boys to come away with a win. They deserved it. The goals were set up nicely and everyone got a touch of the ball. Practice during the week really paid off, as the boys were sticking to their positions more and not getting so tired out.

Our goalies and defenders didn’t have too much work to do, but the others were always on the move and we had a number of close goals. If only the goal posts were wider!

Player of the Match was awarded to Noah. Great effort by him today and he has an awesome kick on him!

U7 Green B Round 1

10-1 win v West Pennant Hills

Scorers: Manuel – 4 Joel – 3, Ben – 2, Team Puma – 1

The team had a great outing today with all the boys playing well together for their first game of the regular season against West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook SC. After the bucketing rain of the previous few days, the turf at Cherrybrook PS was in surprisingly good condition. Manuel showed great form scoring four goals, followed by Joel who scored three. Ben, who filled in today, scored two goals while all the boys were responsible for the final goal of the match. It was a great first game with the final score 10-1 to the Pumas.
